hochschulstart.de (DoSV)

Many universities coordinate applications for popular undergraduate courses using the dialogue-oriented service procedure (DoSV) provided by hochschulstart.de. uni-assist cooperates with hochschulstart in order for you to easily apply for these courses.

You can find out directly at the university of your choice if your course of study is part of the DoSV. You can also see this in My assist as soon as you create an application for your chosen course.

Your application using DoSV

Registration

The unique aspect of the hochschulstart.de (DoSV) procedure is that you additionally need to register at hochschulstart.de. Create an account on the DoSV online portal and generate your personal identification number.

The identification number consists of two parts:

  • BID (Applicant ID, “Bewerber-ID”) and
  • BAN (Applicant authentication number, “Bewerber-Authentifizierungs-Nummer”).

Application

After registering, apply via the standard procedure using My assist for your chosen course. There you will be asked to enter your valid BID and BAN provided by hochschulstart. uni-assist forwards all applications with a positive evaluation result to the universities.

Important: BID and BAN need to be current and valid. If you have any questions or problems, please contact hochschulstart.de.

Admission

You can log into your account at hochschulstart.de to check the status of your applications directly. There you find out if you have been accepted into one or more courses and will be able to accept the offer immediately. After you have made your selection, all other admissions will be immediately deactivated.

Tip: Use our DoSV checklist to plan your application. It contains the most important guidelines for each step.
